Hey there! We’re Peter and Brenda, and we’re high school sweethearts who got married and bought a fixer upper in the suburbs of Massachusetts in 2016. Four years later, we started a blog to showcase our house transformation, and to share what we’ve learned along the way.

We’re calling this blog The Modest Makeover because we’re beginner home renovators with a humble budget, taking on simple projects in our spare time. We both work full-time jobs (Peter works in financial services, and Brenda is a registered nurse), but we manage to keep our home improvements moving along!

By posting about our projects, we hope to inspire our fellow DIY/decorating/home renovation lovers to take on projects of your own (or just sit back, relax, and read about ours!). Follow along with us as we turn our 1970’s house into our home!
